The 16GB M1 MacBook Pro is in house, and I have been testing it for a while with different software. Mainly software related to music production.
M1 – MacBook Pro Quick Look
First of all, I have a quick look of the machine, and here is that video:
M1 – MacBook Pro Ableton Live 10 (Rosetta 2, non-native test)
After the quick look I decided to check out how Ableton Live 10 works in translated mode through Rosetta 2. The software that runs in the background and makes sure that Intel applications still works fine on these machines. Even though the performance was not top notch, the performance was really impressive. Considering its NOT native. Check it out here:
MacBook Pro M1 16GB – Logic Pro X Stress Test (NATIVE M1)
Here is a Logic Pro X native test, checking how many plugins, effects and tracks this machine is able to handle in native mode. It is also including one of the updated 3rd party plugins for M1. Fabfilter Saturn 2.
